Paul Harris & The Cleverlys in Branson MO

Paul Harris, an Arkansas native, is widely known as a comedian, singer and musician, with tastes ranging from rock to bluegrass, and has been performing in Branson for nearly 20 years.

Having such a long career in the area, Harris has gotten his shows down to a science.

“The 2014 Branson show, will still be the same format, but there’s going to be some new material,” he said. “I do stand-up comedy, so I’ll do a 40-minute comedy set of some of my best old stuff and a lot of new stuff I’ve been writing this winter.”

Much like Jeff Foxworthy, who Harris has opened for in the past, he uses his southern charm to tackle nearly every subject there is, but he always walks the line and keeps his show clean.

Once his stand-up is done, Harris is joined by his band to play a few bluegrass tunes before the Cleverlys take over in the second half.
The Cleverlys, Harris’ bluegrass band, started at the bottom and quickly gained a large following when a their cover of the Black Eyed Peas tune “I Gotta Feeling” was posted on YouTube in 2010 and quickly went viral. To date, the video has been viewed more than 2 million times. They also perform classic and contemporary tunes from artists such as the Zombies, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flo Rida, Fergie, Beyonce and PSY.

While Harris said the Cleverlys will still perform all the tunes they’re known for, there are a few changes in store for next season.

“We’ve got a hot new bass player we’re excited about, and it’s kind of a new lineup for next year,” he said. “Plus, we’re working on some outside things with the Cleverlys, and man, it’s going to be big and we’re pumped about it because it will only help what we’re trying to do here in Branson.”

Due to the success of the YouTube videos, the group has a massive road following.

“What’s amazing to me is we’ll travel out to California or Virginia and it’ll be a full house of Cleverly fans, or ‘Cleverheads,’ as we like to call them,” Harris said. “Plus, we have a lot of international fans. (Our videos) get views from 30 different countries with some of the biggest being in Brazil, the U.K., Australia and Argentina. It really is amazing to see all the Cleverheads across the world.”

Harris said the fans are so passionate, they even dress like members of the band.

“We see these college kids wearing polyester suits and glasses and taco cowboy hats, singing every word to every song,” he said. “It’s just amazing.”)

Larry's Country Diner in Branson MO

Fans of the popular RFD-TV series “Larry’s Country Diner” will be thrilled to see the return of Larry’s Country Diner LIVE at the Starlite Theatre in Branson, MO!
Based on his down-home variety program that draws over 1.6 million loyal viewers each month, the live stage show is careful to retain all of the country charm and wisdom of the televised version. Enjoy the entire cast from the hit series including Renae the waitress, The Sheriff, Keith Bilbrey, and everyone’s favorite gossipy busybody, the church-lady Nadine. If you are lucky, you can even eat right in the “diner” during the show!
Larry’s Country Diner also continues to provide an amazing array of guest artists for traditional country music fans. In fact, some of the biggest names from yesterday and today have dropped in at Larry’s, including Gene Watson, Bill Medley, The Texas Tenors, Rhonda Vincent, Jimmy Fortune, Dailey & Vincent, The Bellamy Brothers, Billy Dean, The Cleverlys, Moe Bandy, and more.
And if that wasn't as much fun as you can tack onto a wall, Larry’s Country Diner is 100% live and unscripted. The motto on the set is, “once the tape starts rolling, it does not stop. If you get yourself in trouble, get yourself out ‘cause we’re not stoppin’.” The fact that plates are dropped or broken during a performance, or that some of the lights go out while they are rolling makes the show all that more exciting. Because of its popularity, getting a seat to see a live taping might prove more difficult than getting a reservation at one of L.A.’s most trendy posh restaurants
Since its initial airing in 2009, Larry’s Country Diner has produced over 100 episodes and has become one of the most popular shows on RFD television. The show is a product of Gabriel Communications, which is owned and operated by longtime disc jockey Larry Black.

Jimmy Fortune in Branson MO

The incomparable Jimmy Fortune, of the Statler Brothers fame, rounds out the list of artists you absolutely must see in the new BootDaddy Concert Series presented at the Starlite Theatre for 2015.

Jimmy’s breathtaking tenor voice paired with his uncanny ability to crank out a string of #1 hits makes him a force in the industry. Fortune spent 21 years with the Statler Brothers band, racking up enough awards to earn the title, “The Most Awarded Act in the History of Country Music.” Close to his faith and down to earth, Fortune is now pursuing his own career with several new albums and singles performed as part of a phenomenal new live show.

Jimmy Fortune joined The Statler Brothers first as a temporary replacement for Lew DeWitt, after DeWitt heard him singing at a ski resort and recommended him. Following an audition in Nashville, Jimmy was contacted by the famous band and performed his first show with them on January 28, 1982, in Savannah, Georgia. Due to the debilitating effects of Crohn’s Disease, Lew was unable to return to the stage with the Statlers, and Fortune was hired as a permanent replacement in August of 1982.

Fortune quickly lived up to his name. He wrote the group’s second No. 1 hit, “Elizabeth,” on their 1983 album Today, and followed that with two more No. 1 hits–“My Only Love” (from 1984’s Atlanta Blue) and “Too Much On My Heart” (from 1985’s Pardners in Rhyme). Fortune also wrote the top-10 hit “Forever” from 1986’s Four for the Show and co-wrote the top-10 hit “More Than a Name on the Wall” from 1988’s The Greatest Hits.

Jimmy Fortune has performed in all of the U.S. States, in Canadian Provinces, and in front of audiences as large as 100,000. He was part of the Statlers’ annual Happy Birthday USA celebration in Staunton, Virginia, for 14 years. He also sang on many of the Statlers’ gold, platinum, and double platinum recordings. Jimmy’s career included The Nashville Network’s popular “The Statler Brothers Show,” which aired for seven seasons and debuted in 1991 as the highest rated show for the network. He was also privileged to perform at the White House on two occasions, once for President Ronald Reagan, and once for President George H. W. Bush, and he presented a special gift to actress Elizabeth Taylor by singing his song “Elizabeth” to her for a birthday celebration.

Jimmy and The Statler Brothers were inducted into the GMA (Gospel Music Association) Hall of Fame on October 29, 2007, and inducted into the CMA (Country Music Association) Hall of Fame in June 29, 2008.

After the Statler Brothers retired on October 26, 2002, Fortune seized the opportunity to launch a solo career to share new music with his fans. His first solo CD, When One Door Closes, was released August 2003 on Audium/Koch. He released a gospel album, I Believe, in June 2005, a Christmas CD, Feels Like Christmas, in 2006, a live concert DVD in 2007, and another country CD, “Windows” in 2009. Jimmy is currently living in Nashville, writing for Melrose Entertainment, is a frequent guest on the hit RFD-TV show, “Larry’s Country Diner,” and continues to successfully tour the country throughout the year.)

Rhonda Vincent in Branson MO

Rhonda Vincent, sister of Darrin Vincent (Dailey & Vincent), has cut quite a musical path for herself and others. Called “the new Queen of Bluegrass” by The Wall Street Journal in 2000, Rhonda has been largely credited with expanding both the musical reach and the accessibility of the genre. Exciting, fresh, and fun, with the musical chops to take on any male counterpart in the industry, Rhonda has been awarded an unprecedented “Female Vocalist of the Year” Award seven consecutive years in a row by IBMA between 2000 and 2006.

Vincent's musical career began when she was 5 years old in her family's band, The Sally Mountain Show, and has spanned more than four decades. She first achieved success in the bluegrass genre in the 1970s and '80s, earning the respect of her peers for her mastery of the progressive chord structures and multi-range, fast paced vocals intrinsic to bluegrass music.

Vincent is an in-demand guest vocalist for other Bluegrass and Country music performers, appearing on recordings by Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Tanya Tucker, Joe Diffie, and other notable artists. She has also been a regularly featured guest on the hit RFD TV Show, “Larry’s Country Diner”.
